'Mumoirs' is about growing up as an only child with my single mum - or as it was often unaffectionately termed 'unmarried mother' in the 1980s. It explores the intensity of our relationship against the social backdrop of the era. I originally entered this project into the Myriad Editions First Graphic Novel Award in 2014 and made the final shortlist. It was a work-in-progress then and it remains to be so as I put the project on hold owing to personal reasons. I will return to it one day...
